Links Inventory

The Swords

Sword: This is the easiest items in the game to get. Just go into the first cave you see in the game and take it.

White Sword: The White Sword is located above the waterfall in the northern part of Hyrule. From where you start the game, go right one screen, up five screens, left one screen, up one screen, right three screens, and up one screen to find it. Before you can pick it up, you'll need to have at least five Heart Containers. It is twice as strong as the normal sword.

Magical Sword: The Magic Sword is located in the Graveyard. The Graveyard is located in the northwestern region of Hyrule and the easiest way to get there is to go through the Lost Woods. From the start of the game, go up one screen, left four screens, up one screen, left two screens and down one screen to enter the Lost Woods. To get through the Lost Woods maze, walk up one screen, left one screen, down one screen and left one screen. When you exit the maze, go up two screens to find the Graveyard. Go to the upper-right screen of the Graveyard and push on the tombstones until one of them reveals a staircase. Go down the stairs to find the Magic Sword, before you can pick it up, you'll need to have at least twelve Heart Containers. It is twice as strong as the White Sword.

The Shields

Shield: Link starts the game with this.

Magic Shield: This shield can block fireballs. It can be purchased in most shops, but I recommend purchasing it from the shop hidden under a bush. To get there from the start screen, go up one screen, left two screens, up one screen, left one screen, and up one screen. Burn the bush at the corner. You will pay only 90 Rubies, about half of everywhere else.

The Items

Rubies: Rubies are the money used in the Kingdom. They sometimes appear when Link disposes of the enemy. If Link collects enough of them, he can buy treasure from the merchant. Yellow rubies are worth 1, and blue rubies are worth 5. In all, Link can own up to 255 yellow rubies, and he may use them in any way he likes.

Heart Container and Heart: The Heart Container increases the nimber of life hearts the Link has. A heart also turns into a white heart back into a red heart. During the game, if Link defeats the enemy and rescues a fairy who's in their devilish hands, she'll turn 3 white hearts red.

Keys and Magic Key: Keys can be baught and found all over Hyrule. Link uses these to op-en doors in the underworld dungeons. The Magic Key is located in the top-right corner of Level Eight. From the entrance of Level Eight, go up six rooms and right one room. Defeat all of the enemies in the room and push all the blocks to reveal a hidden staircase. Go down the stairs to find the room containing the Magic Key.

Ladder: This item of treasure lest link holes or rivers that are as wide as he is.

Raft: Link can float across seas and lakes when he launches this from a dock.

Map of the labrynths and Compass: Link can discover the entire layout of the labrynths with this map, and by using the compass he can out where the Triforce fragments are hidden within the lavrynths.

Blue and Red rings: The blue ring reduces the damaged inflicted by half, and the Red ring reduces damage to one quarter.

Power Bracelet: This bracelet gives Link amazing inner strength. He can even lift giant rocks.

Magical Clock: The enemy stops moving when Link has this. Mind you, it only works on the screen he's on at the moment.

B button Items

Wooden Boomerang and Magical Boomerang: Link can use these to inflict damage on wea enemies. He can also stop most of the strong enemies in their tracks if he throws the boomerang on target. The Magical boomerang flies further then the Wooden boomerang.

Bomb: Set one of these, and Link can over power the enemy with an explosive blast. For each bomb Link picks up, he gets four bombs. Link can carry at the most, 8 bombs until he upgrades. Then he can carry 12. So use them sparingly!

Letter to little old lady: When you choose this letter at the sub menu and press button B, Link can show the letter to the little old lady who lives inside of the many caves.

Bow, and wooden and silver arrows: Link can use them only if he has both the bow and an arrow. For each arrow that Link shoots, he loses one ruby. Oh, by the way, there are some enemies that can be disposed of only using the bow and arrow. So be alert! The wooden arrow can be purchased in most stores.

Blue and Red candles: Some of the rooms of the labrynths are realy dark. So use these to lighten them up. Blue candels are good for one screen only, but the red ones can lighten rooms for several screens. The Blue candel can be purchased in most stores.

Whistle: A realy mysterious, magical item. Use it and it will amaze you with what it can do. After you clear out the 8 dungeons, Link can use the whistle to take him to Death Mountain.

Enemy Bait: Link can use this bait to lure the enemy and bump them off as they come to eat it. But watch out! This doesn't work on some enemies. Bait can be purchased in most stores.

Water of Life: Drink this and all of Link's life hearts will turn red. Red water turns blue when Link sips it. Drink the blue water and thats the last of the water. Link can buy the water from the old lady.

Magic wand: This is the wand that Wizzrobe uses. Wave it to let loose magic spells. What's more, if Link picks up the Magic Book and learns some new spells, he can chant some and send out some flames.
